GROWTH, CHANGE AND
A BRAND NEW NAME

Very quickly, operational efficiency rose to among the highest in the industry. Monthly sales went from 3.5 to 30 million square feet. Eventually the production facility and warehouse grew to its current size, 200,000 square feet. In yet another “Yes” to the future, Jet Age has transitioned to its current identity as Field Packaging Group. While many plans for expansion and development are in the works, one constant remains. Field Packaging Group will continue to do whatever it takes to meet the customer’s needs.

In 1999, Marty Field, his son Andrew, and his son-in-law, Brian Herzog, took a major calculated risk. They bought Jet Age Container, a box shop that needed some work. Marty had industry experience after helping manage the family business, Field Container, while Andrew and Brian brought business acumen in sales/marketing and financial management to the money-losing company.

Perhaps it was a case of not really knowing what couldn’t be done. Like meeting impossible customer deadlines. But soon, operations, equipment and personnel were in place that helped make the impossible the norm.

Before long, both existing and potential customers began to sit up and take notice. Especially when the new version of Jet Age began beating everyone else in turnaround time, quality and competitiveness.
